    Default Weekly Poll: Have you ever homeschooled a child other than your own?

    I have! I've homeschooled about 5 students over the years. When I first started in '99, it was with a child that wasn't my own.

    I voted other because while I haven't specifically been asked to homeschool someone elses's child, there have been children other than my own around while we were doing an experiment or a project or just sitting outside doing a read aloud. As long as I had the extra materials or if it was something that everyone could participate in together without needing anything extra, I've always let my kids' friends, neighbor kids, friend's kids I was watching or any extra kids that were there for whatever reason participate if they wanted to.

    When my oldest son was 12 or 13, he had a friend (who was public schooled) spend the night one night and we had been waiting to do that week's science experiment, dissecting a cow's eye, and just finally had the time to do it that evening so my son and his friend dissected it together and his friend even asked to make a notebook page of his own. Several times during his stay with us, my son's friend told me I was the coolest mom ever lol.

    I voted Other because I tutored a student who was homeschooled (but legally her mom was the one homeschooling her).
    I'd taught at the school she previously attended.
    Mama of one DS, class of 2026;
    recovering schoolteacher;
    lifelong bookworm
