I was just surfing through your blog...looking at all your writings make me wish even more that we could move our family to PEI!
How have you found it, settling in there as a secular homeschooler? I really really hope that we can make this move happen in the next year or two. Everything about PEI makes me feel more "settled"...
    How is winter?
And I love all your Pinterest boards. Amazingly organized

Weekly Homeschool Report + Friday Link ♥

by alexdk on 11-22-2014 at 07:48 AM
I started again to write weekly wrap up posts a couple of weeks ago.

This past week seemed to have flown by!

Celeste and I had a three full days of homeschool, one full day of learning at the pet store, and today is a P.D. Day.

Having two children in public school means that Celeste and I usually take the P.D. days off. Today, my oldest and I went to see the new Hunger Games movie, Mocking Jay part 1. We both really enjoyed it! I need to re-read the trilogy

Back to Homeschool...Or as some say "not-back-to-school" week!

This past week, Celeste and I started our homeschool year. My teens started back last Thursday at the local senior high school and we enjoyed the last days of Nana's visit on Thursday and Friday.

Monday was "back to the books" and the routine. We had a great first week, with just a little drama! We met with homeschool friends on Monday afternoon

Our Homeschool Room

by alexdk on 08-22-2014 at 08:52 AM

With the new school starting in only a few weeks, I thought I would share our homeschool space with you. We don't have a specific room and never have had one in the last three homes we have lived in since we started homeschooling. Besides for extra storage, I wouldn't want one!

We enjoy homeschooling in the family room, the kitchen, the backyard, and also other places like the public library!

The majority of our time is spent

Weekly Wrap-Up ~ A Light Week!

by alexdk on 02-19-2011 at 11:56 AM
This past week was light, school work wise. We took Valentine's Day off and I had a doctor's appointment Thursday morning, so we ended up taking that day off too. It was a good week, here are the highlights:

We took part in a Valentine exchange and received so many wonderful cards! We even received one from Hawaii! I stuck them all to the side of a kitchen cabinet. You can see the cards we sent in this post. The hearts in the upper left corner are the ones we gave each other.
