About EarthenSinn
Hello All! We haven't fully decided whether we'll be homeschooling yet or not (our son is only going on 2 y.o.; born in May 2016), but we are seriously considering it -- one of the conditions being that I'd like to be certain that there are other like-minded (i.e., secular) homeschoolers in our area with whom we could network.

We currently pendle between our "city" home in La Crosse, WI and our "country" home near Rushford/Chatfield, MN (spending a few days per week at each). I’d love for us to meet anyone in that swath, and the sooner the better!

I'm a work-from-home mom with an affinity for languages and foreign cultures; my partner is a self-employed artist who does a fair amount of national-scale travel. The fact that we'd like to continue joining him is just one of the "lifestyle" reasons that homeschooling appeals to us. We also have our concerns about current socialization practices in our society… and feel more and more that we are raising our child too mindfully to not make our best effort to surround him with others who are being raised more mindfully as well. And then there’s the academic aspect too: So far, our Little Man seems pretty far ahead in everything he sets his mind to do. If that trend continues, then he’d be bored in a traditional class filled with age-mates. (So if we do end up going the school route, then we'd probably be going Montessori.)

We live pretty close to nature in many different ways, love adventure, and delight in the mundane. That’s us in a nutshell! Would love to hear from like-minded families nearby!

Although, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
