Default Looking for a few good women and men!

SHS recently lost one of our main moderators, and we are looking for a few good volunteers who might like to help with this task. Basically what would be involved is simply moderating posts from new members to make sure they aren't "spam". If you already hang out on SHS in your spare time and would be willing to help maybe one day a week with moderation of those, could you PM me on-site? Preferably, I'd like members who have been ACTIVE site members at least six months or more.

In general, this task doesn't take more than 15-20 minutes a day, max - - and your user title would change to "Moderator" on site.

This is definitely volunteer work - - we're looking for users who want to see this community succeed - - but I don't want your efforts to go unnoticed, so for anyone willing to pitch in on this, I'd be happy to:
    • link up with you on LinkedIn
    • allow you to list a position as "Online Community Manager" for SHS on LinkedIn
    • give you a recommendation on LinkedIn after six months of mod help

Think it over, and PM me if you're interested. Thanks, SHS'ers!

I'd do it, but I think that would be like giving Satan the keys to the car. Too much power aligned with dark forces. The masses would revolt. (or be revolted, or both. LOLOLOL)

There's a reason why they won't let me carry the ring on trips to Mordor. LOL

But yeah, if you get absolutely desperate....feck it...why not?

If that doesn't scare more responsible people into volunteering, I'm not sure what would?

If nominations are accepted, I'd like to nominate Iron Ethel Flint, and Farrar if she's still around!
Middle-aged mom of 4 kids spanning a 10-year age range, homeschooling since 2009, and a public school mom also, since 2017.

I second the nomination of Iron Ethel. She's awesome! Smart as hell and a veteran HSer.

Have also thought of Aspie....with her looking for work and all, she could probably use another reference.

MNDad would give us a little gender balance. Always enjoy his posts, he seems so damned thoughtful.

Half a dozen others come to mind as well.

Hell, I nominate all the regulars. It's a nice bunch of folks, here.

    Hope someone steps up.

About us

SecularHomeschool.com was created to provide information, resources, and a place to share and connect with secular homeschoolers across the world. Secularhomeschool.com aims to be your one-stop shop for all things homeschool! We will be highlighting information about wonderful secular homeschool resources, and keeping you up to date with what is going on in the world of secular homeschooling. But that is only the beginning. SHS is your playground. A place to share the things that are important to you. A place to create and join groups that share your interests. A place to give and get advice. There are no limits to what you can do at Secular Homeschool, so join today and help build the community you have always wanted.

SecularHomeschool.com is a community and information source where secular homeschoolers ARE the majority. It is the home for non-religious homeschoolers, eclectic homeschoolers, freethinking homeschoolers AND anyone interested in homeschooling irrespective of religion. This site is an INCLUSIVE community that recognizes that homeschoolers choose secular homeschool materials and resources for a variety of reasons and to accomplish a variety of personal and educational goals. Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
