    Default Florida homeschooling and life?

I need info and guidance from all you wonderful people. We just found out we池e being moved to Eglin AFB near Destin/ Niceville, Florida. I知 extremely happy to finally be leaving Texas, but I知 not sure how I feel about Florida. Can anyone share info and advice on the secular living and homeschooling scene in that area and for Florida in general? We were so hoping to get back to Colorado, so I知 pretty upset at this point... but I知 trying to find out all I can and try to change my perspect-acles. Thank you all!

We will be living on Patrick AFB and visited the area there over spring break. I fell in love with the area. So many things to discover, the relaxed way of people (everything is relaxed compared to VA), secular options on homeschooling groups. I was told this is how Florida is but I cannot speak for your particular area. My support lady has lived her entire life there and said this is just how FL is. I am excited because it fits our lifestyle. I wish you all the best.

FL family here and new to homeschooling. We're in Palm Coast, over on the east coast between Daytona & St Augustine. There's a lot offered here in FL for homeschoolers, at least in our area. It helps that we're only 90 minutes away from Orlando and most of the attractions offer some sort or "homeschool days". There's also lots of groups around. Unfortunately for us it seems that every one in our area is Christian based. Not exclusive of secular hs-ers but it's not usually our style. I will say that is it SUPER easy to hs in FL, bureaucratic wise. Especially if you have a child with certain special needs. FL offers a 10k scholarship to kids w/certain special needs that are home or private schooled that can be used for almost any educational need.
Welcome to FL and hopefully your journey goes well!

Rather, respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
