    Default Friday Roll Call, 3/10

Happy International Day of Awesomeness! There were other possible holidays to pick from for today, but I personally need something to pick me up. Consecutive nights of little sleep (I HATE menopause and middle-of-night hot flashes) have me a bit worn. But.....carry on!!

It's still early, so dh and I will go to the YMCA soon. Not sure if I'll run or swim yet; I don't really feel like either. But I know I'll feel yuckier if I DON'T go.

On a more positive note, my kids are coming home for spring break for a week!! We pick up dd at the bus stop outside Chicago tonight, and I'll get my son at Purdue tomorrow morning. I'm also happy for them that their break is at the same time. They miss each other.

What is happening in your neck of the woods this weekend?

Homeschooled two kids for 11 years, now trying to pay it forward

Daughter -- a University of Iowa graduate: BA in English with Creative Writing, BA in Journalism, and a minor in Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies

Son -- a Purdue University graduate: BS in Computer Science, minor in math, geology, anthropology, and history

How awesome they have spring break the same week Carol

My Mother in Law is coming tomorrow so I hired a lady to do a SUPER clean... I have learned a lot from my MIL. #1 how I wont be as a MIL!!

Man Childs "Friend Girl" comes in tonight... she is on spring break (they went to High School together, so her parents live here)... shall make for an interesting week all together.

I decided this morning to take next week off as well... I should have done this week because we JUST started a new unit and each unit is 3 weeks long... but I didn't and I assume they will survive taking this week off 1/3 of the way through. HECK I'm still learning too

    Have an awesome weekend everyone

I'm drinking coffee out of my favorite mug right now, which is usually dirty because it seems to be everyone else's favorite mug too. It is the little things sometimes

DS's best friends are headed down from CO to spend the weekend and early part of the week with us. We have a bunch of fun activities planned. They have not seen each other since August, so DS is really excited. Plus our local PS systems are not on break, so no crowds. We started our Spring break on Thursday. The first half of the week is for fun, the second half is for getting errands done (dentists and car mechanics).

The weather here is unbelievably nice - sunny and mid 70s. Usually it is cooler and windy this time of year. My mood has improved with the temperatures and seeing some signs of spring - bees, flowering trees.

Awesome weather here, too. We went to the Birch Aquarium today, DS4 had a lot of fun there.
(Heres the view from the aquarium.... overlooking La Jolla cove, and theres a sea cave over there you can go visit for a buck's admission. )

Tomorrow I am looking forward to a day without kids and a trek with a friend to the Riverside Citrus Museum, and a tapas bar for happy hour indulgences. A carafe of best awesome sangria for $10, somehow seems so affordable.
    Homeschooling DS13, DS6.

My spelling was fine, then my brain left me.
