    Default Thursday Roll Call, 10/20

    Good Morning
Man, I am messed up on days this week. Almost started this one as a Wed. roll call.
I know darn good and well it is Thurs. I need it to be Thurs. as that is my last day for daycare of the week.

DH went to work. AGAIN. Let's hope he STAYS there today. Said he felt lots better.

Full house of kiddos today. I am done with the week. Mentally. My downs girl has become over the top this week. Aggressive, hitting and pushing and generally making my day WAY harder.

And now dealing with my pay for the past 2 weeks from her parents. Mom texts me last night to let me know their account was compromised and they had to close it, open a new one. Didn't remember to get temp. checks. GRRRR So text her back and say cash works. Oh, her debit card isn't working. UGH 10 more months of this family. They have been PITA clients since 2008. This is the part of running my own business that drives me nuts.

Dishes, laundry, picking up. Those are my plans for the day. Plus wrapping up preschool week, pumpkin craft today.

Just another crazy Thursday. But at least it IS Thursday.

I hate when I get off on days.... screws up the rest of the week.

    Have a GREAT day!

Those PITA clients sound a lot like unreliable renters from what people have told me, in terms of payments. Too bad you can't do what they do with tenants here, which is charge first and last month's rent plus a damage deposit. That way, if the tenant is late on the rent, the "last month's rent" covers that but meanwhile, they have a month to get out. Maybe your clients could play first and last month's payment, and have it explained to them that if they can't pay on time, the prepaid last month's fee will be used but then they are done?

Hoping you have a better week next week!

Have my fall review scheduled, had a brief moment of panic when I was given two dates that I just can't make work. My umbrella is awesome though and they're getting me in on a day that does work for me. I'm so happy I made the switch, it's definitely worth the money, for less stress. With my anxiety and then everything going on school has been sporadic but getting done. I feel like I've been slacking on a few subjects but I have a little time to back into our regular schedule.
I need to do some laundry, and decide if my one drawing is finished or not. I should probably start something new and/or work on that one drawing I just have a sketch of. I'm not sure if I want a red pop of color, full color or black and white. Need to stop being stuck. Maybe I need to just commit to one and then I can always re-sketch the same photo for a new piece.

    Ya. I am TOO nice.
I know what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck and I treat my clients accordingly. And it bites me in the butt sometimes.

But this family. Drives BMW's and buying a new house in an expensive neighborhood and yet can't pay me?!
Plus their child is the MOST PITA one. Their son was too and he wasn't special needs.
This too shall pass..... just means if I don't get it today... that I get to play the $$ shuffle on my end so I can go grocery shopping tomorrow. I HATE doing that.

2 weeks ago, other family. Same thing. Parents separated. Dad was to pay me. Mom reminded him once. If she reminds him again, he blows up. So she didn't. Come Thurs. afternoon. No check. Let her know. She dropped it by on Saturday when Dad STILL didn't bring it. Had to play the $$ shuffle then and then back again once I had the check.

Hoping you get the keys to your new house RSN, Aselvarial!

Not much exciting today, although I discovered that the speed at which a 4yo can race ahead of his mom to pull library books off the shelves is proportional to the number of librarians watching. I think I was still in the entrance foyer when DS4 returned with an appropriate book on firetrucks, and an inappropriate book on dog communication. And then in the holds shelves, he tried pilfering a fun book reserved by some other family near ours alphabetically. Under the nose of a librarian filing more holds.

And DS10 asked me about the Illuminati on the way home.... followed by him and DS4 having battles with Illuminati Swords, and Illuminati Shields.
DS4 exclaiming "I have naughty sword" was quite amusing. Illumin-naughty. Then again, I dont get out much.

AM, thanks, but alas, DH called 30 minutes before he had to leave to ensure closing was ACTUALLY happening today, and guess what? Nope. So now, he has to do it Monday. At 11AM. When he works all night Sunday because his boss won't actually make anyone cover for him. Just "oh well if you want off, you have to find someone to cover for you". Which, would be fine I guess if there wasn't only 1 other person who could cover, and he is a complete dillhole about having to do anything that isn't his schedule. His boss totally doesn't know how to MANAGE, but then, neither do half the other managers they have. WE have now entered the 7th circle of hell. The sellers delayed us twice, the mortgage lady who we've been dealing with off and on for a year, left that bank right after the first closing was delayed, but she's still responsible for our mortgage, as well as someone AT the actual bank we are getting the mortgage at, the underwriters are complete boobs. If we didn't already have so much in earnest money, inspections, appraisals and all that crap, I'd have walked on the house this morning and told the bank idiots to shove the mortgage paperwork where their head obviously resides.

A&W, see, those sort of ppl are why I don't deal with ppl. I have a short short fuse for stupidity.

Oh aselvarial, you DESERVE to slap the crap out of any of those people at this point. AND IMHO, you should be able to walk, get your earnest $$ and any other costs back.

I have a mega short fuse. MEGA. And a mouth. How I have made it this long in this business is beyond me. Tonight was close. Kiddo behavior plus parents BS excuses for $$. If they hadn't paid me tonight, they were getting told to find other care. Been a long week with your child whose issues have ZIP to do with her special needs but more with their lack of parenting, allowing bratty behavior and not giving a rats butt. Her brother(who is not special needs) was the same way. UGH.

I am SO sorry that closing did not happen today. THAT SUCKS. What BS. And DH boss sounds like my DH manager. UGH. Hope your DH gets a power nap in and makes the ACTUAL REAL closing on Monday because it WILL HAPPEN! Crossing fingers for you!!! HUGS

A&W, I'm trying to talk him into renting a hotel room, even if it's just for a few hours. If he came home, it's 1 hour home, and 1.5 hours to the closing. And only 2 hours at home. If he gets a hotel near his job, it's only half an hour from to the closing location. Which would buy him 2 extra hours of sleep. Of course, I've also just told him to take a taxi.

I'm convinced companies promote the incompetent to managers. Maybe they do less damage as management since most jobs I've been at, management mostly consists of paperwork. And telling the upper brass that the random busywork assigned (that does nothing whatsoever but create paperwork for the manager to do) is getting done.
