    Default Monday Roll Call, 7/11

    Good Monday Morning
Excitement outside. Helicopter flying more than just the freeway backed up. Checked online and fire along the bike trail, in a junk yard. Looks like they got it out so far. Luckily we are very wet from a rainy weekend. But it stinks outside. Just took the puppy out and yuck.
2 little ones today. My boys.
    Rain.
    And no plans.
I am working on the last of little projects in the kitchen/daycare area.
And need to dust living room since I have a daycare meeting here tomorrow morning.

Told you, boring day. So far.
    Have a MARVELOUS Monday everyone.

    First response today!!

    Tutoring once today.
DS off to work at 8:00 this morning, while DH and I went for a slow jog.
Will try to send out an email to local homeschool groups to see if there is interest in my teaching high school algebra.

Rest of the day will be spent getting kitchen and yard back in order after yesterday's party. Friends and family and neighbors over--it was a nice time. And little kids got to hug chickens!!

Oh, and tackle the laundry that backed up last week!

    Happy Monday!

Im glad your party went well inmom.

And yuck to outside stinks, and yay to puppy walks. I just got back from taking my pup on his mini walk. The vet tech said its dangerous to take them out before 3 months. Maybe Im living dangerously, but the chance of some rabid lizard or bunny coming out and savaging us seems sort of low.

Today, DS should do some math, I should recover the kitchen from the weekends neglect, and fill up our trash bins with the weekly garage cleaning. And, of course, Ds4's therapy today.
Maybe I will make some lemon cake, too. I found a glaze recipe that contains butter..... it works soooo much better!
Hubby commented that the stockpile of clean laundry is ready to be folded and put away. "Feel free!" I told him. Not surprisingly, its still there.
Im also thinking about embarking on a pantry-cleansing campaign, to use up the random stuff thats in there before it goes bad. I bought a costco pack of canned black beans... maybe I will make chili for dinner tonight to start depleting that.
    Ahhh, domesticity.

I would totally be on board for someone teaching Algebra. Hope you get lots of interest inmom!!!
Today is little piles. Got the bedding folded and put away yest. THAT is a huge deal. It has to fit in small overhead cabinet. We have little tote boxes that work great and can hold them but they have to be folded just right. And cleaned it out while we were at it.
Got the pillowcases cut down. King bed but not king pillows so always have to cut them down to standard. Been putting it off. And ALL of DH's work scrub pants were coming apart in spots. He had 2 OK pairs and 4 no way pairs. Sewed them all, good to go.
So, down to small piles of clutter to put back where it goes here and there. Going to start in kitchen today and work my way towards living room. And when in doubt....toss it in thrift store bag.
AND DH is on his way to VA for eye AGAIN. Started yest. morning. He still has meds to started those but wants to get it checked NOW before it gets bad. Unfortunately they don't have an opening for 10 days so they told him to come and they would fit him in.....

Today is our first day of the 2016-2017 School Year! 2 hours in, and so far, so good! My new Kindergartener insisted I load everything into her backpack, take her picture, and let her walk around the house and into the basement door- she also rode her scooter around for a few minutes on her way to school. Too cute! The only thing left in my morning schedule today is math for the boys, which I will start in about 5 minutes. DH also scheduled an appointment today, so we will take a break whenever that guy gets here

    Happy Monday!
    Mom to 5 great kids~

alexsmom, our vaca week... we are eating out of the freezer to deplete it. We have a med. outside freezer plus 2 fridge freezers inside.
I need to clean and organize them all. There are 19 meat chickens out in the outside one from May. I know we have a couple left from previous year, couple turkeys, fish, etc.
I have lost inventory due to not 1 but 2 fridges dying in the last year. That is what we get for buying from CL. Hence the reason we bought a new one in Feb. But 2x of OMG the fridge is dying, toss this in freezer(s) created a mess of WTH is out there.
Pantry is clean always and organized. My freezers.... not so much.

This still feels like the weekend to me. Though my week feels off anyway because my husband was off Saturday so today feels like Tuesday. We have a bunch to do, and some that has to put off until next week. I go my welcome phone call from the Harford Artist Association this past week and I'm excited to go see the gallery for the first time and pick up the handbook. We have too much to do, so now it's something to look forward to next week.
I just looked out the window and the recycling truck came and left behind my bin though it look my boxes filled with recycling. I even spray painted a logo on the sides of the can, and left the lid open this week. They left a note before when they wouldn't take it because of plastic bags. I wish they'd leave a note again telling me why they won't use this bin. Do I need to buy a new blue one? Should I just give up on recycling and set the bin out for the garbage?

It was slow going this AM for me - NyQuil hangover - but I did wake up feeling much better today! DS, on the other hand is snorting and complaining of a headache

School felt a bit more in the flow today. Always a bit choppy when we start back up due to trying new stuff / ideas. We are hanging around the house today other than swim team. I predict this week will be a mellow one - our HS social group tends to die out over the summer.

I take back what I said earlier about the recycling bin, they left a note, finally. The only thing I can think is our bin might be too big. I ordered two small ones and I pick them up Wednesday.
We got a bunch done today, ordered a new office chair for my husband, we had to use the warranty on the old one, but now we caught a sale and get the new chair for the price of a new warranty. We had to call in on our mattress/box spring warranty today too. He sat down on the bed with the cat and we heard a crack. The box spring cracked. The warranty is working out well for that too, they'll be here tomorrow to switch it out. I love warranties so far. We had our old tv replaced with one.
I am trying to find a way to get a new colored pencil set. I've had my Prismas for about 12 years. I've heard so much about Polychromos, and I finally watched a video on the difference now I want them. They do everything I wish mine would do. Now to just try to find a way to get the price down.
