Default "Day in the life"-style books with photos

Dd3.5 and I enjoy reading about real families, in picture books with photos, but I don't know what search terms to use or if there is a distinct category for books like this.

For example, we enjoyed Where's Chimpy? by Berneice Rabe:

We also enjoyed Our Mom by Kay Burns.

These books are about people with disabilities, but that is not a requirement on our part. We don't want death or divorce because the former is too upsetting and the latter would be confusing since I am not getting divorced, but most other scenarios are fine.

    Suggestions?

The book Where Children Sleep is an interesting one. Here is the artists link. Some kids might find some of the pictures disturbing, because not all kids live in great conditions.

Thank you! I will get Children Just Like Me from the library.

Also, to clarify what I originally said, we can easily handle a book about a family that happens to be headed by a single parent. I just don't want a book that is specifically about divorce or separation.

This site is an INCLUSIVE community that recognizes that homeschoolers choose secular homeschool materials and resources for a variety of reasons and to accomplish a variety of personal and educational goals. Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
