    Hi All!

We are going to start homeschooling in August and I am extremely excited to embark on this journey. My daughter will be entering 3rd grade and has only attended private schools. Any suggestions are great appreciated.

Enjoy your summer, when you go places, think of how it is an educational experience (doing ranger programs at parks, taking pictures, reading interpretive signs, discussing the sights you see). Those moments are the best parts of homeschooling, that is the kind of stuff, and the feelings youll want, for when you *start* homeschooling in the fall.
When you get back from your road trips, think about dabbling into one subject both of you enjoy. Practice “schooling” with that, to get a feel for what will work for both of you. (Theres a lot of focus on kids learning styles, but for homeschooling, the parent learning / teaching style is important too.)

We will help you find curriculum for assorted topics, and hopefully save you money and headaches. (You can also search the archives, its likely that people have already asked your questions.)

My spelling was fine, then my brain left me.
