I donít know how it took me so long to find this forum! Iím homeschooling my 6 year old daughter, I also have a 1 year old son. I have yet to find any other non religious homeschoolers in my area. We use an eclectic, literature based school style and I plan to use MBTP for first grade.

I hear you on how hard it is to find non-religious homeschoolers! And they seem so well organized, and invasive!

Welcome It can be tough finding other like-minded homeschoolers, and then when you finally do, the schedule clashes so often. We have had the best luck finding friends in after school activities with public schoolers.

Welcome. We used MBTP for our first years and LOVED it. We also found a Facebook "recess" group near by that is excellent. It isn't secular BUT you wouldn't know it if you hung out with them (I very sensitive about that topic).

    Hello & welcome!

We're in north OC. My son will be 10 this summer. I started homeschooling him since first grade. We're going to try to meet up with a homeschooling group this summer. I too find after school activities work really well, because the kids don't all come from the same school, so acceptance of differences is already built in. We also use literature as a springboard for a lot of things.
