    Default Hello All-

Hi from the Philadelphia suburbs of Pennsylvania! This is my first year homeschooling my 7.5 year old daughter Ada and we are enjoying it. I also have a 4.5 year old son named August (Auggie for short) who attends a preschool program 6 hours/wk. It's difficult to find secular homeschooling peers in our area because we are about 40 minutes outside of a major city- I think if we actually lived in the city we would have an easier time. Anyway, thanks for having me!

Welcome to the forum! Yep, we can relate to that problem of finding other secular homeschoolers as well.

Welcome. Has your daughter been in school till now? Does she have any public school friends that you can keep up with? Do you plan to homeschool your younger one too?

My youngest went to preschool for a similar number of hours while I homeschooled my oldest. Then my younger one wanted to go to school because that is where all her preschool friends went. I am hoping she will want to homeschool again some day (we tried it for 6 months with her).

For friends, we find it easiest to go for secular public school friends at after school activities or on play dates in the school holidays.

Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
