    Red face Hello from Oregon!

Hi! Long time lurker, first time caller.
We're in our third year of homeschooling and while I get plenty of information using the amazing search function in the forums I find myself wanting to ask other things or just join in conversations.
I've got a super science minded 8 year old and a crazy smart and energetic 4 year old (who has been reading for a year. Who is this kid!?)
We do a whole big mix of things for our school work and just this year started at a "homeschool charter school" which has mainly been a source of money for school, fun classes, and other benefits. Of course with that, I am now tasked with having to send TWO WHOLE pictures of work we've done for the week. Really, its not hard, hah!
We're big on Beast Academy (perfect fit for my daughter!, game-schooling and Bravewriter.
Other than that, I'm an overambitious gardener and soon to be chicken lady. My kids are bouldering and game-schooling fanatics.
Looking forward to "meeting" people here and being able to talk about all nerdy of my favorite homeschooling things.

Welcome! We also love Beast Academy and Bravewriter. My 10 year old is very sad that she is just starting her last year (level 5) of Beast Academy.

What part of Oregon do you live in? The charter school sounds great. We are NZ'ers but lived in the US (San Diego) for 3.5 years when our oldest was preschool age. We often think about moving back, and maybe to Oregon as it would be more affordable for us and the weather is similar to that in NZ.
New Zealand-based. DD 10 (year 5 [NZ system]) homeschooled, and DD 5 (year 0 [NZ system]) who is currently trying out public school.

SecularHomeschool.com is a community and information source where secular homeschoolers ARE the majority. It is the home for non-religious homeschoolers, eclectic homeschoolers, freethinking homeschoolers AND anyone interested in homeschooling irrespective of religion. This site is an INCLUSIVE community that recognizes that homeschoolers choose secular homeschool materials and resources for a variety of reasons and to accomplish a variety of personal and educational goals. Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
