Talking Hello from Lake Mary, FL!

We are new to homeschooling. I am a public school teacher. My son has medical issues and we had to abruptly begin homeschooling him, but we are very optimistic about this transition. Really noticing how few secular (active) support groups there are in the Central Florida area, so reaching out to see what online and other resources there are to support us. Thanks so much!

Welcome! For your peer resources, you might not need geographically local help.
There is a big Florida homeschooling group on Facebook, if you can search the archives you may find it. Finding secular groups seems to be a lost cause for many of us.

Search here for user TFZ, she is a (former) public school teacher too, and in Florida.
    Homeschooling DS13, DS6.

My spelling was fine, then my brain left me.

Welcome. You will find there are many current and former school teachers on here, including me. I think we might see better than most when a local school is just not working for our kids.

And this group can give quite a bit of virtual support when asked! There is a ton of experience here.

Homeschooled two kids for 11 years, now trying to pay it forward

Daughter (22), a University of Iowa graduate: BA in English with Creative Writing, BA in Journalism, and a minor in Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies

Son (21), a Purdue University senior majoring in Computer Science, minoring in math, geology, anthropology, and history
