I am from Amarillo, Tx. I have 2 daughters 8 and 10 that we are not officially homeschooling yet but plan to begin for the next school year. I have been a member for a few days now without introducing myself. I got so caught up in perusing the curriculum list! So appreciative to have found you guys and leading me to curriculum options I don't know that I ever would have found without. I have already spent months researching options for homeschooling and while I know I still have time until next year I know I have so much info to find.

Welcome! Please dont let the information get to be overwhelming! It is often easier to ask, and a lot of favorite ways to teach homeschooling arent in the curriculum lists. There is no one good math curriculum for all kids, for all time. There is no easy “just buy this and your kids will be set” product out there. I mean that not to scare you, but to liberate you.

If your kids are happy and content where they are schooling now (no other reason to delay taking them out), you can involve them in picking curriculum.
I would also advise you pick products where you can combo teach both of them at the same time. My boys are 6 years apart, and the younger one subsists on what he picks up from his older brother’s social studies and science lessons.

New member here! I am SO overwhelmed...I have a second grader and all the research I've done says base your child's curriculum on how they learn, I have NO IDEA how he learns, so where do I start? I don't want to spend a lot of money on something only for it not to work out. I need guidance...

Welcome, pharris. Dont panic, and take your time selecting one subject at a time. It will be a learning process for you, too! And avoid all in one box curriculums! Not only do they not know how your child learns, they know nothing about him!
Figure out where he is at with reading, with math, and pick something fun that is science or social studies based. And dont forget, you dont need to use curriculum as designed!
Also, dont start with expensive programs. Programs with a premium price are generally relying on new, insecure homeschoolers as vict8ms!
