    Default Hi from Virginia

Hey everyone! I'm glad I found this site! My husband and I were starting to feel like we were the only secular homeschoolers anywhere!! lol We do not judge religious homeschoolers, in fact we have many friends who are Christian homeschoolers, but it is nice not to have to filter through all the religious comments.
We are very new to homeschooling, as in we have just recently decided to do it officially, this Fall 2016. I'm in the typical new homeschooler stage where I am devouring everything I can get my hands on about the subject and trying to find local groups that we can join. So far, I've had no luck. We are in Prince George County, Virginia. It is a fairly rural county with lots of farm land. There are plenty of Christian homeschool groups around and if I can't find any secular groups, we just might join one of those so we are meeting other homeschooling families.
I have two girls: One will be in 2nd grade (K and 1st were in public school) and the other will be in Kindergarten(went to a half day preschool the past two years). Its nice to meet everyone!

Although, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
