Don't be shy...add an avatar!!
silly face.jpgWe have a whole lot of anonymous folks out there in secular-homeschooling-land, don't we? This is no time to be shy, now! How about taking a minute and personalizing your profile a bit today by adding an avatar picture? It certainly doesn't have to be a face-shot, if you aren't into that...just something that tells us a little bit more of who you are or what you are about.
At a loss for ideas?
- Cute pic of your kids is always a winner
- Scan in one of your child's recent masterpieces
- Hey, we're not above a good pet photo here
- A piece of classic art that screams "you"
- Something related to your favorite hobby
- A random pic of your most favorite tv or movie celebrity
- ANYTHING but that "anonymous" greyed out human outline! Ok??
If you are also at a loss for where to come up with good free pics on the web, here are a few ideas...
Let's put an end to scary "anonymous" profile guy today!!
(note: to add or edit your avatar, go to the Settings menu and click on "Edit Avatar" under My Profile)

Shy no, technologically challenged yes.
Anyone please tell me how to grab a pic from my Flickr? I tried copying a few URLs that it offered... complete blind ignorance didn't get me a result this time.
Maybe file too lg but didn't say so?
cheers,
Pat

When Flickr gives me a hard time about linking, it's usually because I didn't make the photo public. Each photo has a privacy setting and it has to be Public for the photo to be accessible to anyone other than you.
The fastest way to do this--that I know of--is to re-upload the photo and set the privacy to "public" at that point.
ETA Is there any reason why you can just upload the photo from your hard drive? That's easier on this forum since you don't need to use a third-party service like Flickr for an avatar.Homeschooling The Dismantler 12, Polyhedra 9, and Houdini 7

I'm not having trouble with the avatar, I was able to post a small photo of myself on there (I don't really want ppl thinking that I'm some gray anonymous outline)...However, this site isn't allowing me to upload even the smallest of profile photos (wallet sized, for cryin out loud!) Oh, well...I'm glad that someone can see me.

I can't tell if my inability to add an avatar is related to my new-girl status or some sort of operator error.

Hey Reece.. you should be able to add your avatar. If you can't get it loaded send me a PM with the file you want and I will try it from my end!
