    Talking Greetings and Salutations!

Hi, I am Beckie, homeschooler from Calfornia I am mama to three, one of whom is graduated, a 2nd grader and a preschooler. We are a mixed Pagan/Spiritual family, raising our kids to think and decide for themselves. We currently homeschool through a local charter, for 3rd grade we'll be using R.E.A.L Science, Moving Beyond the Page, in addition to the state standard Math book (I got no problem with it, so why fight, LOL)

I am also the local SpiralScouts Circle Leader and on the board of directors for The Learning Village, a homeschool resource center. I am a regular blogger, and involved in lots of various stuffs.

Anyways, feel free to ask me anything, and I look forward to getting to know everyone

Welcome Beckie! Sounds like you're going to be a great resource for this group and I thank you for joining it. I had never heard of SpiralScouts before and love the fact that you can create a Hearth.... hmmm, I'll have to think of it. We belonged to the Indian Guides program like year out of the YMCA (ours wasn't a strict Indian Guides program, everyone was welcome) but we didn't rejoin this year and we miss it. I might have to look into creating a Hearth with some folks from my group... if only we could get the dads involved, which might be the biggest challenge, sadly.

Hi Beckie, welcome to the group!

It is a great resource and it has been growing quickly in the past few weeks.

I had never heard of SpiralScouts either but just spend a little bit reading over the website and it sounds very interesting. There isn't a circle within 250 miles of us unfortunately. Did you find it difficult to build up a circle in your area?

I saw from your other link that you are in the Fresno area. I have family up there - do you ever make it to the zoo? Dh's uncle does the bird show there.

Welcome again - I look forward to getting to know you better.

    Thanks for the welcomes!!

Snoopy ~ I had the same problem with husbands, and my first two co-leaders dropped off the planet. Thankfully, I found another one who has stuck it out for the long run. For the most part, my Circle is all mama's, and 1 or 2 dad's who chip in now and then..

Kim ~ It took me a year from the time I found and decided on SpiralScouts to get my Circle going, but now I have a core group of little Fireflies and it runs pretty smoothly. Funny you should mention the zoo, we are headed there this afternoon!! Your DH's Uncle is Russ? We LOVE the bird show, and catch it when ever we can, but sadly not today, as it doesn't show on Tuesdays, LOL!
