Random injuries
I just got head butted in the jaw by my dog running at full speed. I was sitting on the floor unpacking DD6's school bag and the dog was doing his mad racing round the house that he does when we have just got home. He passed by me once and jumped over behind me. Then on the way back, he decided to jump over the bag in front of me, but he did it just as I leaned forward to get something it, and he collided directly with my jawbone and gave my brain a good rattle round (and a headache). Man he has a hard head! I was just thinking how funny that one would be to explain to the doctor if I needed treatment for concussion.
Anyone else injured themselves in absurd circumstances?
DH's funniest one is that he injured his tailbone falling off the seat on an ergometer/rowing machine when he was trying to race me once at the gym.
In NZ, anything that is an accident you have to register with a government run entity (ACC) to get free medical care (and compensation if it means you cannot work). So you end up with these letters from ACC to keep in your records saying things like "fell off ergometer" as a permanent record.New Zealand-based. Haha! Im glad your dog hasnt given you a concussion, though.
I popped my knee once while dancing around the house doing housecleaning. It was a little embarrassing to explain to the urgent care doc! He took it in stride, explained to me what I did and how it happened... as though it happened routinely.
Im glad theres no permanent registry of mishaps though.Homeschooling DS13, DS6.

My spelling was fine, then my brain left me.

Wow. I'd hate to think what would have resulted if the dog had connected with your teeth!
Another running related accident a few years ago. Similar to recently, a few years ago I tripped on a root while running. Managed to get up and finish the run. However, I bruised my lung, similar to a chest hitting a steering wheel in a car collision. Ended up with pleurisy. (Come to think if it, it's the same lung I partially collapsed after a fall a month ago....) I'm a dork.Carol

I still have a sore area on my jaw from the collision. I am also glad I did not damage my teeth (although that would be covered by ACC for free).
Lol and ouch about the knee popping AM. DH's sister dislocated her shoulder sleeping. Very painful. Joints seem to pop out easily sometimes.
Inmom, you have a history with tripping over roots and ending up with lung injuries! Ouch.New Zealand-based. DD 11 (year 6 [NZ system]) homeschooled, and DD 6 (year 1 [NZ system]) who is currently trying out public school.
