    Default Discovery!

So, dd is at that age she is doing her own thing. Ds is on his way to getting his first apartment. Hubbies business is growing, as is mine! But as my children grow I find I have a lot of time on my hands lol! I am very adventurous and outdoorsy! I spent half of my life growing up on a mountain with out any electric, running water, or phone. Learned some survival skills. Us kids were taught the basics in case we got lost. Luckily, for a huge family, I mean HUGE, none of us ever got lost. We did a lot of tent camping away from the ranch as well. We lived many places. What I am looking for is a survival book. I would like to build on what I already know. I can start a fire with a fire starter, I can fish, and gut one just as well (since I was 5!) I can make basic traps, identify animals and such. But I need more. I have the time and want to learn and do more. I feel what I know is quite little, compared to what I could learn. So, homeschooling parents, help me out with a book! Youtube and dvds are all good too. I havent found a book that quite grabs my attention. After dd graduates I will be taking a 3-7 day hike. Taking hubby with me. (maybe lol)

On another note, dd might be graduating next year. I am thinking its a bit early, and maybe she should take another year of "fun" classes to mature and explore her interests. What do you think?
Bobo 13 yrs old - marches to the beat of her own drum, driven, out going and loud, yet she loves nature
Booger Boy 21 yrs old - quiet, self assured, confident and laying his own path

Have you ever looked through the Foxfire Books? I would suggest those.
