Default K12 International vs Pearson Academy (International Connections)

We are looking at both these online schools for our 11th grader next year. Does anyone have experience with either? We just don't know which way to go. The only public online choice for our state is K12 public, but we are trying to get away from state testing requirements and the rigidity of public schools.

Welcome! Im not sure that either of those options will get you away from overtesting and the rigidity of public schools. Youre exchanging human interaction for an apathetic computer screen, from the convenience of your own home.
What is leading you to the path of not going to public school? What state do you live in? (Some states have A LOT of public charter school (even charter homeschool) options that may give you something you prefer.)
Some states have partnership programs where high school age students take courses at the community college (possibly online), and graduate high school with an associates degree at the same time, ready to transfer to a 4 year college as a junior.
What is appealing about the online? Is it that you dont have the time or inclination to guide your darling through the coursework?

Im pretty disinterested in online learning as a waste of time and not a lot of learning taking place... past experiences with it, and the recent disasters of trying to do zoom learning, where even when the teachers are face to face, the amount of learning dropped to about nothing. (My oldest is in a charter homeschool where his spring inclass Humanities switched to Zoom, and I think the whole time from March to June was spent floundering around the revolutionary war.

I feel pretty strongly that there are better options to suit your needs and situation!
    Homeschooling DS13, DS6.

    Atheist.

My spelling was fine, then my brain left me.

Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
