Default Favorite middle school age games and/or puzzles?

I'm about to start homeschooling my 6th grade daughter who has ADHD. It's daunting to think of pulling her from middle school and being solely in charge of her education. I was thinking that things might get a little stressful for us as we begin and start to figure out just what we're doing. It might be good idea to have some fun educational games and/or puzzles to break up the book learning. Any favorites you can recommend?

If she likes fact type games, my DD11 loves the Professor Noggins card games. They are available for all sorts of different topics. Each card has a set of easy and hard questions (3 for each). You roll a die and the number that comes up is the question you have to answer. If you get it right, you keep the card, and whoever has the most cards at the end is the winner. We have wonders of science, space, horses, ancient civilizations, insects, and earth science.

We also play a lot of scrabble, checkers and Chinese checkers, Monopoly Deal (card version of the board game and much more fun; my kids had never played the board game until recently and were highly unimpressed by it compared with the card game), Valence (a chemistry card game), and Right Start Math card games.

We've liked everything we have ever bought from Gamewright. Forbidden Island is our favorite though. I also like Timeline (a really quick one). Then card games are always a nice standby.

Good suggestions, thank you. RTB, we love Forbidden Island as well, and I looked into Timeline which looks very good.
NZ_Mama, the Professor Noggin's card games look like a lot of fun! Thanks.
