    Default Eighth Grade Writing Programs

What curriculum did you use for 8th grade writing and what did you like and dislike about it? I am having a hard time deciding what to use. Seems them all have strong positives and strong negatives in terms of reviews.

The ones you saw probably fit for different kinds of kids and situations. Is there anything you want to focus on? Do you like the “living book” approach to grammar? Do you want it incorporated with your history coursework? Do you want one that focuses on academic or creative writing skills? Does your 8th grader need more work with spelling or vocabulary?

I agree with alexsmom. I would add, what curriculums are you currently considering and what do you like or dislike about them?

Currently using TGTB language arts, Fix-It Grammar, and Wordly Wise. When we dive in fully we plan to use MBTP for history. Science I am still working on. I did buy the IEW level b used to give it a shot and figured if it doesn't work for us I can just sell it.
