    Default Global Village School?

Hi, I am going to be homeschooling my daughter in the Fall for 7th grade. I was looking at Global Village School. I didn't see a review on the site for it. Has anyone here used it? How is it? How are their services? Are their services better/more helpful than signing on with a local charter homeschool?

    Thanks. Renata

I use GVS! I wrote a review and now I see it has been deleted all together from the curriculum list. How strange. I have written about this before in the forums, but here are the highlights.

From K-8th grade the school has a couple of options. You can purchase a curriculum list with suggestions or you can purchase the curriculum list and enroll in the school and receive the assistance of a teacher.

I have done both. When I first started homeschooling I enrolled in the school for a couple of reasons. One is because were were starting out and the second is I knew we would be moving and I wanted a school for coverage.

I can’t tell you if it is better than your charter school. I have never gone that route and I am sure each school is different anyway.

What I can say is the people who work at GVS are increabilly helpful. We were able to structure our lessons our own way and if I had questions I was able to bounce around ideas. The primary reason I don’t pay for tuition anymore, is that I live in a state that has no recording requirements and I am feeling very comfortable with our program. I still buy the curriculum list because I like their suggestions. I use GVS because I like the social and environmental justice aspects of the curriculum. There is also a Facebook group for parents which can be helpful. We post resources that complement the curriculum and have discussions, as well as buy and sell relevant materials.

Let me know if you have specific questions!
