    Default Griffin Academy

Hi, has anyone heard of Griffin Academy? You can enroll the whole family for $33/year? and choose classes/curriculum. I cannot seem to find out any info on it and am not crazy about their site, but it sounds interesting. Thanks! Krys

I have been a member for several months and been very happy with it. It is a one woman operation, so don't expect an immediate response to any questions... But she will get to you. Most of the information is on the Facebook group and not on the website. Your membership gets you access to the "school" video library which includes well known services like brain pop and scholastic. School access is not the same as if you bought an individual membership, so some things may have more/less access than if you had a typical homeschool account. Members also have the optional opportunity to purchase individual access to certain online courses such as Reading Eggs at a significant discount. There is stuff available from kinder through HS. Everything I have seen so far is secular, but I have only looked at stuff for the younger grades in detail.

She also runs several online classes and field trips as part of the membership, but I have not participated. On the FB group, there seem to be lots of happy comments on the events.

I know this is an older thread, but it popped up in a search. Does anyone have any more info about Griffin? I'm trying to learn more and not having a lot of real luck, I guess that has a lot to do with the "one woman show" thing referenced above.

Wondering specially about Time4Learning. We use that and I'm trying to compare. Looks like what Griffin offers is like a light weight/watered down version of Time4Learning, with no support or tools (like planners). Can we still have access to multiple grade levels across each subject? Does it include all grades from PreK - 12? What about other fees? So many questions, lol!

I signed up for the library a few days. Havenít had a chance to really check it out yet though. I also have not signed up for any of the curriculum packages, although Iím contemplating the Silver/ExactPath one. Will update once I have a chance to really check everything out.

To ask more questions, you should join the public FB group called Griffin academy Pk-12. There is a different FB group for paid members. One of the things that makes it confusing is that some of the companies have asked that the admin doesn't talk about some specific products to non members, so that limits some of the public info.

I'm still very happy with my membership. I think it is an amazing value. The members FB group is very active, and many folks will answer questions when the admin is not available. But it can be overwhelming because there are so many things to choose from and not a good description of everything available.
