Default Cannot even ping from command line

I had no trouble with the site until shortly before Christmas. Details here: https://www.secularhomeschool.com/tec...sp-banned.html

I have also emailed Topsy, but forgot to mention that I don't even get a response when I ping from command line.

I have been posting from Tor since 12/14/14 or I would genuinely believe that the site no longer existed.

HTH and I am so sorry you're having to deal with all of this

I had a problem with a site like that a few years ago. For my situation, I had to go into my router settings and change from OpenDNS IP addresses (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220) to Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).

I hope you can find a solution. I know how aggravating it is.

    Nah, not a word.

Now I'm getting captchas when I try to log on with tor, which I really don't have enough eyesight left to deal with, so I'm absolutely not flouncing or anything, just messing around with my router and/or using my adult kid's data plan for serious homeschooling questions.

    Take care, all.

Here's the official advice I got from our tech support when I mentioned your issue..
Considering it works with tor and not normal browsers - as well as the fact that its on multiple machines it could be the dns provider has bad info. Since she's running ubuntu OS she should be able to do a 'nslookup secularhomeschool.com' from her command line. That should give her 104.24.119.99 and 104.24.118.99.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks, Topsy. I've been too busy with octogenarian parent stuff to do anything about the situation other than type nslookup into a terminal window and cry, so I have no idea whether you guys fixed it for me or my ISP fixed it for me, but I do owe somebody an acknowledgement of my appreciation.

Thanks, Topsy. Love you, girl, and thanks for the awesome site.

The first thing I did was check it out on some lightweight, dial-up friendly browsers and do a happy dance for my bandwidth-challenged sisters.

Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
