poll-icon-jpgThis week's poll question is courtesy of... raegan!

Here is her whole weekly poll question~
Did you lurk here for a while first, or jump in with both feet and start posting? (are you like that in other areas of life, too?)

I am a jump in with both feet kind of gal, BIG surprise to anyone who knows me, LOL. I am like that in all parts of my life for the most part. Just ask hubby about the cement mixer in the backyard when he came home from work. But I needed a path for the boys to ride there scooters on, since we lived on a busy street! He asked, "Were you planning to do that today?" NOPE!

SO, which are you?? Yes we are nosy, come on now and give us an answer!

Click here to let us know which you are, inquiring minds want to know!

We are celebrating our first six months of homeschool!
Feeling good about going over everything we've done so far and seeing how much we've accomplished.

It's been a roller-coaster of experiences, thoughts and feelings:
feeling like I know what I'm doing, feeling like I don't have a clue
remembering my own school traumas, learning to love learning again
great days with my son, days I'd like to rip my head off
pushing too hard, remembering to smile and give hugs for trying

I'm so glad I found this community right at the beginning. Many people here have helped me take my son's education into my own hands with confidence.
It was something I had been wanting to do for years, and feel lucky to have the path paved for me by so many experienced, creative, right-on homeschool parents.
Thank you for sharing your moments of success, insecurities and fears, colorful projects and useful resources, opinions and suggestions.
Even when it's just to let me know that you had a hard day too, it really does make all the difference.

Here's a Story in Photos of our wonderful first six months.

SecularHomeschool.com is a community and information source where secular homeschoolers ARE the majority. It is the home for non-religious homeschoolers, eclectic homeschoolers, freethinking homeschoolers AND anyone interested in homeschooling irrespective of religion. This site is an INCLUSIVE community that recognizes that homeschoolers choose secular homeschool materials and resources for a variety of reasons and to accomplish a variety of personal and educational goals. Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
