    October is Popcorn Month and in honor of that, we at Secular Homeschool have assembled some fun ways you can use popcorn as a learning tool in your homeschool. Yes, you read that right...Popcorn! It isn’t just for snacks anymore!

    One of the benefits of homeschooling is to make learning fun and what better way than using a fun and delicious snack as a learning tool! Bonus, you get to nibble on it while schooling.

    Math:

    • Popcorn Math - Use popcorn to teach math concepts including place value, estimating, graphing, and volume.
    • Popcorn - Try several popcorn investigations, which provide both a purposeful and enjoyable measuring context.
    • Math Projects - *Popcorn Math An experiment using a standard recipe for making your own popcorn at home.


    Writing:

    • Popcorn Narrative - A popcorn narrative is a fun way to get students involved in creative writing.


    Reading:
