Can you feel underwhelmed and overwhelmed at the same time?

Our portfolios are due to be reviewed here in the next few weeks. I promised myself last year that I would have everything ready and be On The Ball when it comes to portfolio reviews.

I broke that promise.

Now I'm trying to get everything together at the last minute....and feeling like I haven't documented enough...then reminding myself that I documented even less last year and had a super easy review. I am using the same evaluator this year-I shouldn't be so insane...then I get insane...again.

I have a baby due in 4 weeks! That's not helping the overwhelming feelings of not having everything done...I'm nesting...I'm getting portfolios in order (which is kind of like nesting...e-nesting...)

So that's the overwhelmed part. I know that this will all come together-just like it did last year....

The underwhelmed part is starting school for this year. With the baby coming that's the number one priority...starting school is on the back burner. I honestly have not chosen a start date and have not bought any curriculum. I did figure out that I need $60 to start the school year....but I also need a car seat!

I'm very proud of myself though...that I'm not letting this bother me. I want to jump into the "not back to school" type posts and talk about how our first weeks are going....only because I feel when I finally get around to that everyone else will be on to something else...but other than that I'm completely mellow about putting off the beginning of school. I figure we can take things slow until we get into a groove with the new baby...maybe around that time I'll start having panic attacks.

Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
