And I can't help but wonder whether there will be lots of new faces amongst the many familiar ones I was once introduced to, the last time I checked in with the local group, when it was meeting somewhere else. It has been a while, mostly because at the time, my 4 year old son was 2, and a real terror to keep occupied and out of trouble in a setting where the idea was that the kids would sit at a table doing a craft project laid out for them, either independently if they were older, or with the parent hovering and helping if they were younger, and the moms whose kids were old enough not to need help, could talk.

I fit neither category then, because I was chasing a toddler who was bored stiff and totally not interested in the craft projects (and he's still not, hate to say it!) but wanted to run and get into things, and on the other hand, my daughter was still young enough then to need help.

Now, the son is old enough to probably sort of behave, although he'd still rather be outside running around with other kids, not indoors pasting and cutting and coloring, and my daughter no longer needs help, but I have another toddler. Luckily, this one loves to "draw" and paint, sit messing with paper, etc.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow, but I have optimism in place. It would be wonderful to meet more local homeschooling families (why does that have a ring so pleasurably similar to "wizarding families" to me? ) and see if we are mutually agreeable.

This site is an INCLUSIVE community that recognizes that homeschoolers choose secular homeschool materials and resources for a variety of reasons and to accomplish a variety of personal and educational goals. Although SecularHomeschool.com, and its members, have worked hard to compile a comprehensive directory of secular curricula, it does not attest that all materials advertised on our site, in our newsletters, or on our social media profiles are 100% secular. Rather, SecularHomeschool.com respects the aptitude of each individual homeschool parent to fully research any curriculum before acquiring it, to ensure that it holistically meets the educational, personal, and philosophical goals of each homeschooler.
