A homeschool mom that hates to read?

Rate this Entry
Is that even possible? The answer is yes you have just met a homeschool mom that hates to reading. I just got my sons US history book and I'm dragging myself through it. Now it's actually like a regular book. It's the young people's guide to American history. The history of us was to text look like. So after the first chapter we got rid of it. I'm hoping that this book will catch his interest since it aligns with his beliefs. He's not here this week so I started reading it and I was all happy that I had made it to the 7th chapter or his seventh week. Then my husband came by and caught up to me in less than an hour. he says it's not text booky at all.

I ordered his science book today that text you like a regular text book. I'm hoping to add experiments but I added writing elements through I E w. So now I have 10 days to finish the Social Studies book before I have to study the science book. I have to make a list of relevant documentarys from Netflix for each week, for each subject. Why does this have to be so much work? I wish I had a kid that I could just set up a computer program and help him that way but no he has to have hands on curriculum to understand things, is frightened by textbooks, and allergic to work.

On top of that I'm having the beginning of the year worries. Will I be able to do high school? Will I screw him up? Will he be able to be a productive human being? Am I doing the right thing keeping him out of school? Just the normal stuff.
