While searching for some info on WWII for my Girl, I came across this:

BBC - Primary History - World War 2 - Wartime homes (http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/primaryhistory/world_war2/wartime_homes/)

Definitely going to go back to surf this site when I have more time.

We used the BBC primary website a lot! Sadly, we are no longer able to view most of the animations/videos.

I can't pin it!! What am I going to do?!?! Hehe... kidding... kind of.

Thanks for posting the link. My 10-year old is quite interested in WWII.

Is that the KS 2, or whatever's it's called? We love that site--used to use it a lot but then forgot about it for awhile. DS has rediscovered it recently--he like the math and science especially. We've also found the history to be really fun.

Did they block some of it, Stella?

For Australia, yes.

I love that they include primary sources. I also wanted to pipe in and say that if you or your kids like interactive games, playinghistory.org is a directory of online games from sites like BBC. museums, etc.

My boys and I went through this a few months ago. We checked out The 1940's House from our library. It's produced by BBC, I believe. Loads of fun, and an interesting spin on life for the English on the homefront during the war.
