I've been searching for a middle ground between the Christian homeschoolers in our area and the unschoolers. It didn't seem like there was anyone out there like us...and then I found this forum which fits the bill perfectly! We're just getting started with our 5yo so I'm looking forward to learning more.

Welcome to the group! We are in our first year of homeschooling. Our son is 7 and working on Grade 2 curriculum. Our twins are 5 and will be starting some Kindergarten work this fall.

This group is a great resource, if you have any questions, just ask!

Welcome to the site, mamaraby!! I hope it will be a source of support and encouragement for you as you begin your homeschooling adventure!! There are LOTS of new homeschoolers around here (check out our group (http://www.secularhomeschool.com/group.php?groupid=12)), as well as plenty of seasoned ones, so you can get your camaraderie and your expertise all in one place!! Hope you will hang out often with us! :)

Welcome!

Finding that middle ground is one of my concerns too. It does seem like the secular homeschool crowd skews toward unschooling sometimes!
