you can totally count it as a day of school if the kids watch PBS all morning and Animal Planet all afternoon. Right?

Cause that's where we're at today. I think I am on the mend but not well enough to formulate much thought or patience at all.

Send me healing thoughts!!!!

Counts for the state or counts for your own sense of school?

Either way, count it! Even school kids get a video day sometimes.

And feel better!

:)

I believe it counts too. It's like a school assembly day or a field day or a holiday party day or some such in my book!

We may get to a little math this afternoon. The kids are outside now, I even went out for a little sunshine on my skin.

PBS and Animal Planet sound a lot more educational than a Top Gear marathon, which is how DS spent a sick day yesterday. Hope you are feeling better!

Definitely counts. Just like reading the book 'The Inventions of Hugo Cabret', the whole day without doing anything else counts.
When dd was in PS, substitute teacher days were very similar. dd would come back and say that she LOVED the substitute teacher, every freakin time. :p

Yes, I love James May. I couldn't care less about cars though.

Gah I hear you, I was sick today too. Gave the 3 year old my iPod with an educational game and went to hide under my covers!

Well it's true that DS can (and does) rattle off the differences between the motors in the Bugati Veyron Super Sport vs. the Maserati Quattroporte, can (and does) discuss the benefits and pitfalls of various suspension systems, and can tell you the gas mileage of nearly car, practically down to the model and year built. But is feeding his obsession really educational? lol

(come to think of it, since his dream is to be a car designer I guess it is, but does that count as school?)

YES!!!

It has to count, otherwise I'm completely stuffed re letting ds design computer games and counting it as school.
