My son's "gym" this year was fulfilled with gymnastics and their end of the session showcase was yesterday. He was the only one from his class (beginner boys age 5 and up) who chose to participate; the other boys were all older and had been in gymnastics for a few years. Obviously Nikko couldn't do all of the same things they were doing, but he did all of his stuff and his coach had him try a few things the older boys were doing. When we first started he was so nervous about trying things; the first day his coach put him on the bar he was so scared he started to cry. Yesterday he was out there doing everything and never once showed any fear about trying the new things. He has come SO far this year, and I am just beyond proud of him!

If anyone wants to see some of his stuff I have two videos on YouTube... but what's the rule on this forum? Can we post links to outside stuff that's not relevant to homeschooling?

That's awesome!
Being the mom of three kids who do NOT do physical things, I am impressed! :lol

That is wonderful :)
It is great to watch your child grow and learn something new!

I think that's one of the most rewarding parts of being a parent...watching them develop self-confidence!

I haven't seen any rules posted about linking to anything so you're probably OK linking to the videos. I'd love to see what he does and show it to Noah :)

Okie dokie! There's also some bits of Sakura just being silly, but grandparents were so excited to see the videos I just had to include those parts for them, too. :)

LOL Nani, I love seeing his enthusiasm and he's the shortest one of the bunch! Good for him!

That is so wonderful!! I adore enthusiastic kids...it's one of the best parts of all about homeschooling. My boys never had someone telling them they weren't "supposed" to be excited about things anymore!! ;)
