View Full Version : Superhero Wanna-be

Just had to share this fun pic of my son at Fanaticon (comic book convention for you non-geeks) today!! Doesn't he look like he is ready to join these "grown-ups" in their hobby any day now???

If it's hard to tell from the pic, he is flanked by none other than Spidey, Superman, Cap'n Jack, and the Dark Knight.

Here's one more fun pic for posterity sake...he was begging for this particular costume for the rest of the day!!!

We HEART Fanaticon.

That's pretty cool, Topsy. I've never been a bi fan of comic books, but I like superheros and always thought this TV series (http://imdb.com/title/tt0377288/) (talking about "wannabe superheros") was a lot of fun...I even bought the DVD (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000HXE6XM/imdb-button/).

Cool! My boys all wanted to be Batman when they were little. My fondest memory is having to retie the towels that passed as capes about a million times a day... oh, and it had to hang all the way down to the ground too or I had to retie it, lol.

So this begs the question: which superhero would your son most like to be?

Personally, I always wanted to be Wonder Woman when I was growing up. She was so cool. She even had an invisible plane. And the bullet-proof cuffs!

His photo with the Storm Trooper is awesome! I'll have to show Noah. He's a serious Star Wars geek too. Last Fall I dragged him to a fundraising event for the schools in our district. It was very hot and he was just getting over being sick and he just wanted to go home, so much so that even when we saw Storm Troopers walking around, he refused to have his picture taken with them! Being a bad mom, I made him get in the picture because I knew that one day, he'd be happy he had it. I didn't make him take the photo with Darth Vader though.

Love the pictures! Looks like so much fun. And Topsy, hope you take this as a GOOD thing (lol!) but your son could be a Jonas brother! (so says my daughter, who is 10)

When I was a kid, I was obsessed with the Saturday morning show about Isis. I wanted to BE her. Heck, I still do. LOL

"O Mighty Isis!"...I remember watching that show, along with Wonder Woman, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman, Shazam! and a few others. I always liked Shazam! and Isis best though.

Topsy, how cool is that? It's always fun to see how much effort people put into their costumes. It's also neat to see the artists doing sketchwork. We had a great time at Max's first con last month - I think he might be hooked.

As far as costuming goes, he's floating the idea of getting dressed up for the ren faire this summer. Personally, I got the biggest kick at the last ren faire at seeing someone dressed up as a Klingon!

Not having girls myself, I'm just going to have to take your word for it. ;) I barely know who they are!!

That looks cool, I need to take Ethan to something like that.

Ahh - I love it!! I can hear him now: "Mom, I'd like some spandex tights for Christmas." *snort*

Even though I was Princess Leia for Halloween 7 years in a row, I always wanted a Stormtrooper costume. Better yet, if I could find one for hubby...:D
