I saw this posted at another forum, and I thought someone here might be interested in it. The Million Minute Family challenge (http://www.millionminute.com/index.asp) is a challenge in which you play board games or card games and log in your hours. It runs from September to December. We signed up and can't wait to start playing. :)

I don't know the type of games you like but I would like to recommend some games you may not heard of... I love board games, but there are so many better games then you can usually find at your local Toys-R-Us - explore the world of Euro-Games.

Carcassone - http://www.amazon.com/Rio-Grande-Games-RGG170-Carcassonne/dp/B00005UNAX/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313433911&sr=8-1
In this game you build the board as you go by playing tiles & placing them where you would like (as long as they match) and then can play one of your people (or Meeple) on that tile. You score for completing cities, roads, abbots, or by "farming". Great game for anyone over 7.

Ticket to Ride -http://www.amazon.com/Days-of-Wonder-DOW-7201/dp/0975277324/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1313434156&sr=1-1
In this game you collect matching color cards which allow you place trains on routes between different cities. This is one of the most popular games in our house and one we always pull out for friends who have never played a Euro-Board game. Amazon says 8-12 for ages, but I know lots of adults who play this game with no kids.

Both of these games encourage strategic thinking, way beyond typical "roll and move" games...
