I often feel hard pressed to label our homeschooling style. Eclectic is just too broad, everything else is just too specific. I came across this old post from the blog of children's writer and homeschooler Melissa Wiley. It is such a beautiful description from a homeschooler who has found her own way and I felt compelled to share.

That post had a big influence on me a few years ago.

I believe she and her children are would describe themselves more as unschoolers these days.

It's such a nice image though, isn't it ? Ebb and flow.

Thanks for sharing! I have no idea what kind of homeschooler I will be. I guess I will feel my way along and see what happens in the next few months. This article has put me at ease.

Wow that was so lovely, a nice read. I would like to say that her style (then at least) sort of follows our style now. We are sorta classical and sorta not. I think it is easier for me to define what type of homeschooler I am by the types of schooling that we don't do!

Beautiful description. Sunds a lot like us.

LOL I must say though that linking to this blog sent me down the Internet rabbit hold. Too much good stuff to read.
