Visited Butterfly Place today in Westford MA. I LOVED it! Anyone in the MA, ME, NH area who haven't visited, in my opinion, would really enjoy it. It's must nicer than the MoS butterfly room and much less expensive. It took us about 2 hours to drive down from ME - thanks to the near whiteout conditions from the MA stateline on 95 all the way to Westford on 495 (it's about 10 minutes south of Nashua NH) it felt like 4 hours but was well worth it. I didn't want to leave!

The staff was very pleasant. You can stay as long as you'd like. They have a small outside picnic area and they offer HS rates from 1-3pm, Monday through Friday. We of course bought a butterfly house and some butterflies to grow! They also gave us a stack of butterfly activities and info they've made up for HS'ers.

Here is a link to some of our photos (https://picasaweb.google.com/rumbledolly/ButterflyPlaceWestfordMA3242011?feat=directlink). I'll have a video soon - too tired to do tonight.

I thought it was pretty cool that they are family owned and do not receive any funding or grants. They survive on entry fees and gift shop purchases. We were lucky, we bought our admission through a deal on Eversave. For $20. we bought $40. worth of admissions which paid for two of us today plus all the butterfly stuff we could carry out of the gift shop! Can't wait to "hatch" our butterflies next month!

If you haven't checked out Eversave (http://www.eversave.com/boston) you really need to. Yesterday we purchased three whale watch tix for the price of one. DD's August bday gift is complete and it's only March (patting myself on the back). They have quite a few attractions as the daily deal on a regular basis.

That sounds like so much fun! And what a perfect time of year for the visit, too. We want to grow butterflies this spring too, and I'm keeping my eye out for a fun butterfly unit. Can't wait to check out your links when I have a few minutes!
