I am unsure if this is where this should be or not but I am so proud of her right now that I am dancing inside.

We have spent the last year trying to get her to understand just basic math. You know addition and subtraction. She is 6 and is excelled in reading, language, science, but struggles greatly in math.

So with the newest addition to our attempts to teach her math we have tried learning.com and she has just finished her first unit. And wow what a difference.

At the beginning of this unit we had her go over addition flash cards. She only got 5 of them right on the first try. Well we put them away. We had her start the unit. That was the first of this month. She just finished the unit yesterday. We redid the flash cards and she got all of them right on the first try.
YEAH:cool:

That's great! It's so gratifying to watch when the kids finally start to get things they've struggled with. Learning.com, that's a new one for me it looks like an interesting site.

yeah I am not one for promoting a site but this one really helped us out. And they offer math for K-8 and science I believe that starts at grade 3. With each subject you only have to pay 15.00 and that is per child for 12 months.
You really cant beat that price for what they offer. You control what lessons they do and it will give you a detailed report of the progress. You can even have them redo an activity if they need to understand it better.

Congrats! It is those awesome, "AHA!" moments that let us know that our children are really learning. Sometimes people ask homeschoolers how they know their kids are learning without the verification of school and testing. We know because we see it, and it is a beautiful thing. Here is wishing you and your daughter many more of those great aha moments!
