We have a once a week teen co-op, where they study one topic per month. (Sort of like unit studies for teens.) We're planning our topics for next year, and I want to do a "Personal Finance for Teens." I'm thinking of covering (or having guest speakers cover) budgeting, student loans, credit/debit cards, types of investments, and online banking.

Is there anything else I'm missing? I thought I'd ask the creative, smart group here! Thanks!

Balancing a checkbook. Understanding credit scores. Doing their own taxes.

the importance of compound interest!

Dave Ramsey's website has great articles explaining a lot of the subjects for the teen.
here's one:

Looks like you've got it covered, sounds like a great idea.

Interest rates, principal, credit score (and how it can be related to a furture job), budgeting (recommended percentage of income to go to rent, utilitities, etc), taxes and w-2's, bank fees and how banks work. In all honesty, a month is not nearly enough time to cover everything.
