TGIF
We made it. It is Friday.
Today is grocery day. After I do an online business call.
So, doing laundry and dishes while I wait for that.
Sat. is painting trim on south side of house. Just need 1 coat on it to seal for now. We can do better in Spring.
Supposed to be dry today and tomorrow. Crossing fingers that is true.

Rest of weekend. Getting NEW gray paint for our room. What we have is awful. I am glad I only did 1/2 the room. So, paint chips on walls the past 2 weeks and looking at them in all lights. Got a better gray that goes with the bedspread we already bought, etc.

Might start Xmas shopping. We do it for my side at Thanksgiving, so need to get it done and out of the way. Still have 5 weeks but...... luckily I do most of it online.

And that is about it. BORING day.
Have a FANTASTIC Friday.
And an even better weekend.

Anyone doing a pumpkin patch or corn maze or both this weekend? We need to go, I need Fall decor. We will see if we get the trim painting done Sat. MAYBE we can go.

Just back from vacation (7 days in San Francisco) - and I'm totally counting it all as school! We walked and hiked our bums off. And we came back with a list of more stuff to do and see.

Today we are going to hang out and be lazy. I kept our weekend free so I could catch up on planning the next chunk of our school year.

Hope everyone has a good day and weekend!

We love San Francisco. Did you get to see Alcatraz, or bike the bridge? Or get to taste some Boudin's sourdough bread?

DH had a biz trip to Los Angeles this week. But instead of flying home LA to Chicago straight, he purposely made a layover in San Fran to get some Boudin's bread--they sell at the airport as well!!

We drive to Purdue this afternoon and will spend some time visiting DS. Then we have the Purdue Boilermaker Half Marathon Saturday morning. We only do one a year, and this is it!

Sunday, I think we'll just be back home laying around, moaning about our aches and pains! :p

Sounds like a lot of fun RTB and InMom. Take care of your foot Saturday!

I told my plants that the farming mavens on SHS said it was time to murder them. My cherry tomato plant has taken off, being way more productive than it was during the regular tomato season. How can I murder it when its decided to produce? (Im also having a bell pepper and a cucumber growing... not quite enough for anything useful, but I dont have the heart to murder it...)

Today DS gets to finish up this weeks schoolwork, then we will hopefully have a tasty lunch and decide on how we will approach his Zeus costume for his upcoming Greek festival at the charter. Couldnt he have been a peasant instead? Costume so much easier. Pillowcase, a belt, and sandals. But noooo.... Gotta be an impressive patriarch of all gods!

Inmom Good Luck Saturday!!!

I haven't been around much this week. Just one of those weeks when I feel very blah... just getting everything done I have to get done in the day is about all I've got.

Then, last night I went to a dinner that my very sweet across the street neighbor invited me to. "Some other moms that get to together once a month for dinner and conversation" was the invitation. Turns out there was a BIBLE STUDY after the dinner. Ack. Can you say awkward?

Finishing up the school week. DD has enjoyed our literature lessons. She seems liked the story and has done really well with the activities I set up for her to make connections with other things we are learning.

This weekend our former foster daughters mom asked us to come to a bday party for the baby. So I'm really looking forward to that. Hope it actually happens as I haven't heard any specifics (where, when) yet. Ohterwise, normal boring housework, getting ready for next weeks school, etc. DH is working all weekend.

Good luck on your half!!!

We did do Alcatraz! We listened to Al Capone Does my Shirts prior to going - which for anyone looking for a good audio book - the narrator is really good for that one (the book is good too).

We did not bike the bridge but hiked Land's End - which has really nice views of the bridge from the Pacific. We also spent a day hiking Angel Island - big thumbs up on that one, if anyone is looking for ideas.

Boudin's sourdough - did not go, but I did name my personal sourdough starter Lousie after the wife who saved the "mother dough" in the 1906 earthquake / fire. ;)

Completed the half, it was fun, and we had a chance to see our ds at college there. And we are indeed walking around like a couple of old people, hobbling here and there. Lawn needs to be pushed mowed today, though, so might as well do it while I still already hurt. I'll rest next week! :p
