Found this resource today in my online amblings, and it looks great: CSUnplugged (http://csunplugged.org/). Lots of free activities (including lesson instructions and often example videos and photos) on all kinds of computer science--reading binary, compressing files, etc.--that are taught without actually using computers. The idea is to make the underlying concepts clear, accessible, and fun. Many of the activities can be done with kids as young as seven (younger, even, I'd guess, all depending on the kid).

I need to explore the site a bit more, but if it lives up to its initial viewing, we plan to add some of these to our fourth grade CS studies this year.

Some related CS pencil-and-paper programming can be found at Thinkersmith (http://thinkersmith.org)--two of the lessons under "Curriculum" are free.

I loved that website! We only ended up doing a handful of activities, but they were fun
