Big history might fit the bill, depending on what you are looking for

I think teaching teaching the geology of your local area is the most interesting. I would buy a roadside geology for your state.

The 11-13 level of Moving Beyond the Page has several Earth Science units.

Hi Holly,

Have you seen Connect the Thoughts? They have a good science line up.

We used Power Basics Earth & Space Science, Walch Publishing. Clearly written text and some great hands-on projects.

I have the Holt Earth Science geared toward middle grades and it has been fantastic so far!

I just bought the ebook versions of the TOPS rock and minerals

TOPScience: Rocks and Minerals #23 (http://www.topscience.org/books/rocks23.html)

I'v used their astronomy book and thought the activities were really clever.
I also have the Earth Science Activities book from NSTA (National Science Teachers Assoc) and thought it was pretty good.

NSTA Science Store: Product Detail (http://www.nsta.org/store/product_detail.aspx?id=10.2505/9781933531359)

UPDATE: I just went thru the TOPScience Rocks and Mineral and its all stuff we already did the Real Science Odyssey, so not really high school level unless you haven't done any earth science yet.

If you're looking for something on Earthquakes - California Academy of Science has an iTunes U course on earthquakes for free - its an ebook and videos I think. I downloaded it but haven't looked at it yet.
