This is a site I stumbled across when we first started homeschooling and I didn't want to do anything formal for music, but just introduce music as a fun and expressive part of life. We have had a lot of fun with this site over the years. Thought I'd share it, hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

ejsmom, you sound just like me... I totally believe in informal instruction music instruction for younger children (under age 5).

I love your words, "music as a fun and expressive part of life." Young childhood is the time to be naturally in touch with fun, not hammering away at technique. In my experience, kids learning instrument technique too early get their joy and feeling squashed in favor of pleasing teachers and parents.

Besides, the skill 'advantages' kids get when they start formal lessons too early quickly come to equal levels with kids who start when they are really ready.

Thanks for sharing that link. Hope I didn't jabber too much! :)

Thanks! We do a very informal music program, and my son is really into learning about rare and unusual instruments. We learned all about the didgeridoo last year. This site looks great!
