Blurb in local paper (http://www.wral.com/news/education/story/8071396/)about number of homeschools doubling in NC over last ten years. I'm sure that this has occurred across the country. Isn't it funny how it coincides with the adoption of NCLB laws.

This is fantastic news! I wish we could get a more accurate number of homeschoolers in this country but since some states don't track their homeschoolers it's impossible to tell. I feel very sure it is far above the 2 million we've been quoted.

Interesting! NCDNPE has statistics by county you can view by year. For 09-10 in my county there were 1666 homeschools. Aproximatley 34% of homeschoolers state wide are independents (secular). It's nice to see the growth.

I love to hear about growth in homeschooling !! I do believe it is a trend all over the country.
