View Full Version : Independet learning activity ideas please

Lately, I have found it easier to work one-on-one with each child (for math, reading, spelling) while the other is doing some sort of independent learning activity.

I usually try to pick 3-4 activities to put out (my version of strewing) a day and rotate during them during the week. They don't have to do each activity, they can pick, and I do want them to be doing something educational during this time.

Currently I do puzzles, mini-books, a video (relating to history, science, or current topic of interest for the kiddo), thread and needle, yarn and crochet hook (they work on chain stitch), coloring supplies, new library books, handwriting pages, and will start leather stamping soon.

I'm looking for other learning activities to throw into the rotation. Anyone have any ideas.
