My local library actually holds a homeschool advisory meeting every month. I am brand new to homeschooling, so I appreciate this! We do Tae Kwon Do and hopefully girl scouts in the Fall!

I looked into one out of curiosity. as I recall it was mostly just a list of games and activities with little health and fitness lessons built in. It was pretty unnecessary, but it wasn't completely ridiculous. I would guess it's for homeschoolers who have to meet some kind of state requirements. 'Play outside" probably wouldn't impress an uptight list-checking proctor kwim.

No. That would be really odd.

my kids were both in martial arts when they were younger so that was plenty.

No, we don't use a curriculum.

I do make an effort to make sure that my kids are getting a decent physical education. They take swimming lessons, play a few team sports, and I encourage them to try any sport or activity that interests them in the slightest. My older son just finished a week of lacrosse camp and both boys will compete in their first triathlon next month. We've got PE covered.

My DS does martial arts two days a week, and during the "school year" he does a homeschool boys gymnastics class in addition to an everyone gymnastics class, so that's also two days a week. We also hike, bike and do yoga occasionally.

Tacking on to all the yoga discussion: If anyone is interested in some really fun yoga videos, there's a great channel on YouTube called Cosmic Kids Yoga. She is really engaging and uses traditional yoga forms in a kid-friendly way! My 8 y.o. really enjoys it.
