I saw your post in the group. I couldn't comment on it. BUT we use a DVD slot book. I cut the covers from the case down to fit into the slots. I also wrote the name on each slot. The dvd goes in front of the paper cover. That way if one is missing, I know which one it is.... It is not for everyone, but we like it. There is also DVD sleeves http://smile.amazon.com/Maxtek-Premi...ds=DVD+sleeves
Again you can just put the paper from the box in the sleeve with the dvd. I quit buying DVDs though, we just buy the digital version now.

Talking to people

by aselvarial on 06-01-2016 at 10:54 PM
Tech has always been a shy kid. And pre-k exacerbated that I think. He would hide from other adults, any more than 1 or 2 kids overwhelmed him, and he just wasn't very sociable. His Dad and I aren't particularly social creatures, so this wasn't too big of a shock, but I did want him to at least talk to people. And it seemed like the more pre-k went on, the more he retreated. HOWEVER we have finally, finally had a breakthrough!

We have been looking for a new house since October, and

Time4Learning helps with homeschooling Tech while in a downswing from BPD.

I have bipolar disorder. It's one of those fun things we just live with. I am mild enough for now, that we can handle it without drugs (thank the gods and goddesses), but it's one of those things that just never go away.
As many know, we have been in the never ending house search. Frustration levels are high, which is NEVER good for me remaining stable. Add on that my husband was sick for about 10 days with walking pneumonia, and then Tech had it, sleep was elusive for over 2 weeks at my

A cringe-worthy article

by aselvarial on 03-17-2016 at 09:00 PM
I try not to be the "judgemental" mom. You know the kind. The one that everyone hides from because they think their parenting style is perfect. I admit, not even close to perfect. I have "those days" where I just want to hide in my bedroom and pretend I'm single and childless again.

However, every once in a while, I will come upon an article that just makes me cringe. A parenting article that makes me want to scream. When a parent brags about how only A+ grades

The tech addicted 6 year old learns from tech

by aselvarial on 02-02-2016 at 12:16 AM
As the title indicates, our son is tech addicted. And some days I say "screw it, we're having an Octonauts day because I can't deal with you right now". He's watched Octonauts and Wild Kratts so many times. (I think I know everything there is to know about wild turkeys now). We knew he picked things up occasionally, but today, while out at the local thrift store, we picked up the HUGE coffee table book from Discovery Channel's LIFE mini series. We'd already picked up the DVD at Goodwill
