Our vacation days will probably depend on hubby's work schedule and which powwows we want to go to. Some powwows will easily take a week to get to, spend time at and come back from so there's our vacation :P

We "kinda sorta" follow a bit of the public school schedule, and we "kinda sorta" take days when we need them.  But we are also very relaxed homeschoolers, so vacation days might be something of a misnomer for us.

I voted "What vacation?!?!"  A beef cattle farm (even our modest 70 cows) is really a ball and chain.  You spend the the year either growing and harvesting feed for the herd or feeding them.  Then you have to fit in the days you work with them (calving, vaccinating, changing pastures...).  Now fit in off-farm work.  We made mini-vacations out of a couple of weekends away this year, though.  One was a cousin's highschool graduation in a town three hours away and the other was a big Richie Brothers auction a couple of hours away.  But being a homeschool family definitely helps being able to get away.  Not having to deal with public school and busses make for a couple of less things to stress about.

I voted "other" because we don't unschool, but we don't have set vacation days.  I could have maybe voted "We just take our vacation days whenever we need them." but then I guess I thought that, when compared with "we don't have set vacation days", it implied that we took a certain number of vacation days whenever, or that they were somehow planned.  For us it's more like, sometimes we just have other things to do, be it some sort of life necessity like shopping for new winter gear for everyone, or just for some reason the neighbor kids aren't in school and I don't want to make my kids stay inside today while they're out playing.
